Sudip Chatterjee passed out of the Indian College of Art & Draftsmanship in 1986 after graduating in science from University of Calcutta. In 1998-99, he was an artist in residence at the Kuntseminar  Hochschule . Metzingen, Germany. He was awarded senior fellowship by HRD ministry for 2016-18. He has held more than15 Exhibitions in India and abroad. In 2017 German postal service Deutsche Post AG issued two postage stamps based on his works. Sudip Chatterjee  lives and works in Kolkata,
